Hello its me again and brought Hookfang back to my series of „how to put a dragon/monster into a square“ artworks. I really want to make more httyd artworks so I am curious of you guys… what do you wanna see from me next?

This is just a wip of the final artwork I am considering to test out some new brushes because I really want to add more quality and refineness into my future artworks and usually I color everything in like 10 ish minutes… And I would love to make a print or keychain out of it potentially…;)

A while ago Falynn K. asked this question on Twitter:

"So on a tall sailing ship you have the mast, and you have the yards across it--is the yard/spar actually attached to the mast, by like i dunno, a pin or something, or is it strictly roped/lashed to it?"

This is a totally reasonable question! A lot of folks who haven't sailed square riggers might think that the yard stays put, but in fact it needs to move up and down the mast so the sails can be fully set. (Y'know how everyone's always talking about halyards? They literally haul the yard up. You're welcome.)

So to answer the question: yards are held loosely to the mast by a looped line strung with large wooden beads called a parrel. The beads roll up the mast as the yard is raised and lowered. Here's a drawover that hopefully clarifies a little:

Once you start explaining things about tall ship anatomy it's hard to stop, so there's a bit more context for how the sails work:

thinking about rembrandt saying “i wanna tag this moment” at the start of reunion square. because i bet the tag is still there. and how it was supposed to signify something good - of the warriors reuniting and their last stop before making it home - but now it’s where fox died and her last moments are all they’ll be able to think of whenever they see it

train² is soooo so silly to me because i can imagine once conductor out drinking somewhere and he starts getting all talkative suddenly and says something to no one in particular like "ye know tha' jewel store waaay out in tha' metro? that store has sooooo many beautiful jewels... but there's only one thar i've got me eye on an' she's tha one manning the counter" and then he moves onto another topic like he didn't just say that and if you were to ask him about that he'd have no idea what you were even talking about LOL

I don't like any of the maps I've seen for HTTYD so i'm playing a puzzle game w all the locations. This is the 3rd version so far
